TZM: Response to Media; Death of Osama bin Laden

On May 1, 2011 Pres. Barack Obama appeared on national television with the
spontaneous announcement that Osama bin Laden, the purported organizer of
the tragic events of September 11th 2001, was killed by military forces in
Pakistan.

Within moments, a media blitz ran across virtually all television networks
in what could only be described as a grotesque celebratory display,
reflective of a level of emotional immaturity that borders on cultural
psychosis. Depictions of people running through the streets of New York and
Washington chanting jingoistic American slogans, waving their flags like
the members of some cult, praising the death of another human being,
reveals yet another layer of this sickness we call modern society. Read the rest of this entry »

Federal Workers, Contractors, Soldiers and Some Students Warned not to Read WikiLeaks CablesHere come the threats and scare tactics

Reading WikiLeaks’ treasure trove of classified documents from the State Department can be bad for your career, says the Obama administration. Since the website began publishing diplomatic cables, officials from the Executive Branch have warned federal employees, contractors, soldiers and college students aspiring to work for Uncle Sam not to read any of the documents.

The Office of Management and Budget late last week sent a memo to government lawyers asking them to remind workers and contractors that reading classified documents without the appropriate security clearance is a big no-no, even if the materials are available for anyone to read on the Internet.

WikiLeaks not going down without a fight

Dec 5, - WikiLeaks is not going down without a fight and the government is pissed.

December 2, 2010 -

Today, also marking the 2nd day of the Jewish holiday Hanukkah, a devastating fire has raged out of control in Northern Israel, bringing new meaning to the term “Festival of Lights”.

Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes, dozens have been killed, and acres upon acres of beautiful forests, animals and other wildlife are being destroyed.

It is said to be the worst case of its kind in the history of the nation, and several countries, including Greece, Russia, Italy and Cyprus, are now coming together to try and aid in fighting the fire.

The cause is still unknown.

Join us in sending your thoughts, energies (and a miracle of rain) to the families affected so far and to the beautiful Mother Earth herself. Read the rest of this entry »

George Carlin On Religion

Posted by 11:11

George Carlin Religion QuoteWhen it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bullshit story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there’s an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever ’til the end of time!

But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He’s all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can’t handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bullshit story. Holy Shit! Read the rest of this entry »

Dear Animals: We’re SORRY

Posted by 11:11

Dear Animals,

We’re sorry we hurt you.
We’re sorry we torture you.
We’re sorry we burn you for fun.
We’re sorry we poke you.
We’re sorry we prod you.
We’re sorry we subject you to a lifetime of pain so we can eat you.
We’re sorry we kick you just to feel better about ourselves.
We’re sorry we rip the skin off your bones while you’re still alive.
We’re sorry we sell you in pet shops and then abandon you when we’ve had enough.
We’re sorry we leave you in garbage cans.
We’re sorry we shove hormones down your throat.
We’re sorry we steal your babies from you.
We’re sorry we throw you off of bridges.
We’re sorry we chain you up all day and all night.
We’re sorry we drown you.
We’re sorry we force you to do unnatural tricks for our entertainment.
We’re sorry we forget to feed you or give you water.
We’re sorry our disgruntled slaughterhouse workers take out all their aggressions on you.
We’re sorry we force you to fight each other.
We’re sorry we force you to fight us.
We’re sorry we use you for transportation.
We’re sorry we sacrifice your life so we can have another leather couch, car seat, belt or pair of shoes.
We’re sorry we make you scream in pain and then put a picture of a smiling chicken on the box.
We’re sorry we make you feel like you are part of the family and then forget about you when the baby comes.
We’re sorry we drag you behind our cars.
We’re sorry we keep you in dark, crowded, horrid living conditions.
We’re sorry we force feed you to make you fatter.
We’re sorry we burn your front paws in order to make you stand on two feet so our children can laugh.
We’re sorry we sexually abuse you for our fetishes.
We’re sorry we trap you.
We’re sorry we hunt you.
We’re sorry our shelters still use inhumane methods of killing you.
We’re sorry we subject you to a lifetime of terrorizing experiments so we can have yet another shampoo.
We’re sorry we don’t report our neighbors who are mistreating you to the authorities.
We’re sorry we poison you in the middle of the night.
We’re sorry we humiliate you.
We’re sorry we keep you alone indoors all day long and then get too lazy to take you for walks.
We’re sorry we choke you and suffocate you.
We’re sorry we yell at you.
We’re sorry we leave you out in the cold rain and in the hot sun.
We’re sorry we forget you in boiling hot cars with no open windows.
We’re sorry we intimidate you to feel powerful.
We’re sorry we dump you when you’re old and sick.
We’re sorry we sacrifice you for our beliefs and religions.
We’re sorry we starve you as a form of “art”.
We’re sorry we expose you to explosions and gunshots so we can film another movie.
We’re sorry we trap you in zoos so we can watch you suffer.
We’re sorry we treat you like objects that can be exploited for our own selfish purposes.
And most of all: We’re sorry we don’t recognize you for the amazing, intelligent, glorious, magnificent creatures that you are.

Sincerely,
The Human Race

20 simple ways to reduce oil consumptionThe following list was compiled by Greenpeace and their readers on the top 20 ways we can all use less oil and reduce demand for the black poison ruining our beautiful planet:

1. Carpool, cycle or use public transport to go to work.

2. Choose, when possible, products packaged without plastic and recycle or re-use containers.

3. Buy organic fruits and vegetables (fertilisers and pesticides are based on oil more often than not).

4. Buy beauty products (shampoo, soap, make-up) based on natural ingredients, not oil.

5. Choose when possible locally produced products (less transport involved).

6. Buy clothes made out of organic cotton or hemp - not from oil derivatives.

7. Use non-disposable items in picnics and summer festivals.

8. Quit bottled water.

9. Fly less or quit flying altogether.

10. Demand that your government encourage renewable energy instead of subsidizing oil.

11. Avoid styrofoam, bubblegum, or ballpoint pens.

12. Walk the 10 mins to the shops and leave the car at home by deciding to look at something new in your neighbourhood that you wouldn’t notice from the car.

13. Remove useless and needless items from your car. As a general rule of thumb, for every extra 100 pounds you carry around in your car, you reduce its gas mileage by one to two percent; and if you want to get into the minutiae of it, for every extra pound you carry around in your car, you reduce its gas mileage by 1/100th to 1/50th of a percent.

14. Switch to a renewable energy-only electricity provider.

15. Turn down the thermostat one degree in your house.

16. Use the suggestion box in restaurants, stores and other business establishments to encourage them to be more conscientious with the use of oil based packaging and bags.

17. Install, if possible, a solar water boiler on your house.

18. Improve the isolation of your house - the investement pays-off quickly!

19. Ask your boss if you can work from home - less commuting!

20. Vote for, support and foster politicians who are DEDICATED to clean renewable energy.

Choose Organic!More and more people are electing to avoid the risk of chemical contamination of their bodies, families and homes. Fortunately, solutions for addressing change exist and are within easy access. Choosing eco-friendly alternatives allows us to live a natural, green lifestyle.

The benefits of organic bedding, eating organic foods and wearing organic clothing are numerous. Organic Foods The Organic Food Association tells us: “It’s common sense; organic food is good food. Good to eat, good for the environment, good for the small-scale farmers and farm workers who produce it.”

Organic farming is all about health and wellness. In order to assure optimum health and resistance against diseases, the natural balance in our own bodies and in the environment must be maintained. The use of artificial chemical pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, fertilizers, genetic engineering and drugs interfere with this delicate balance; with unknown and often harmful consequences! This is why organic farming impacts on much more than what can be tasted or seen. Read the rest of this entry »
